My Icegrip series plectrums are made from UHMWPE, offering extreme durability and smooth, effortless playing. The beveled edges of Icegrip plectrums are buffed to melting point, creating a glossy surface that will have your pick gliding over the strings smoothly with none of the annoying 'chirping' characteristic of most thick plectrums. A heavier weighty attack with more fundamental frequency is a key characteristic of the Icegrip series. The gripping surface is sanded by hand to a 'frosted' finish with a unique soft feel, helping to increase grip and providing incredible comfort.

The thickness of these picks encourages a more relaxed grip whilst delivering a weightier attack with less effort. Due to the tapered ergonomic design, they feel significantly smaller and less cumbersome than the thickness measurement may imply. With smooth bevelled edges and a precise sharp tip, Winspear Picks give a precise playing experience and glide over the strings effortlessly. Featuring a metal logo inlay for further grip increase.

Brilliant

I've thus far avoided UHMWPE as I've heard the tone is very dark and the picks always seem to have ultra thick tips. The tone on these Winspear picks is warmer than Ultem, but still sounds great (I play mainly Brutal Death) and the tapered points are absolutely brilliant! I honestly wonder why more people don't do thick picks with thinner tapered points because it really combines the best of both worlds and is one of the reasons why I now exclusively play Winspear.

The best

Winspear picks are the best on the market. I've tried various styles from Winspear and each one has been excellent. There is nothing else comparable on the market!

The real deal

I am playing guitars for over 30 years now and had a lot of picks used from all kind of brands . I had one pick I used all of the time for some years now , a good pick , grip and feel , but when I tried the Ice Grip picks : Shiv 4mm Tapered and Shiv Mini 3mm Tapered , I was very surprised about these Icegrip picks ! These are the real deal for me now ! The sound they produce when playing is top and also the feel and playability is top ! So I found my picks now , and will use them instead of my older brand . This is a must to have and to buy again , 5 stars from me ! Thanks for the great job Tom !!!

Smooth and warm

Of all the picks in my Winspear collection, this is the one I come back to the most. The material feels indestructible - and trust me, I've tried. The Icegrip series comes with an almost fur-like texture, which might be unusual at first but quickly becomes extremely comfortable. It does not feel like a sticky pick or 'cold' pick, but feels more rubbery and 'warm'.

Tone-wise, it's a bit more mellow and bass-heavy than other materials. Zero chirp. It sounds smooth and 'dull', in the best way possible. As far as the shape is concerned, I have been using Shivs for several years, and somehow the Icegrips always come out slightly better than other similar picks for me.

If you are looking for a Winspear pick that will last (literally?) forever, that doesn't sound brittle or chirpy, and is extremely comfortable, this is the one I'd go for.
